Minnewaska - Mohonk link

I haven't been to Minnewaska since, I guess, 2012. Wonder if the link between lower parking in Minnewaska and Trapps bridge in Mohonk is open for riding. It was all on gravel road, passing the waterfalls. Anyone been there recently?
Thanks,
Sergey

Just got back from a 2day ride in Nov. Need a pass for Mohonk. So didn't do that side. However, around the time you were there last, I had a volunteer pass, and rode from the town of New Paltz, went up the old gate house, around a pond, then Oak, Underclif, Trapps Bridge, Awosting Falls, Minnewaska Lake, Awosting Lake, down the mountain road, onto paved roads, Gardnor, rail-trail into New Paltz. Well over 40 miles.
New carriage road off Awosting Lake. It's an out and back. 7 mile round trip. Good views. The yellow Hamilton road got a cleanup, make sure you use it.
Have fun.

I was there three days ago for the first time. The carriage roads are perfect, the views are amazing, and I didn't see any signs of closures. The biking day pass is $20, or you can upgrade and get a yearly. I can't wait to go back, and will probably upgrade to a yearly pass. The $$$ worth it the same way a Jorba membership is worth it for me. The money goes to better people than I that keep trails in top shape for us to use.

I started riding there in the late 80s in college and haven’t been back in about 25 years. Had an approximate 48 mile loop that was a combo of roads and trails that existed back then. Would you have a Strava ride handy that I could use as my route from 30 years ago is a little cloudy😁

45 Gunk Ride
I did about half this route, didn't take into account all the climbing so I cut it short and had to run home to some family obligations.
The route seems to hit all the best sports, and I will tackle it upon my return when I have a day to myself. The three hours of round trip driving certainly makes it a long day.

I do not. Was not on strava or any GPS.
They just added a trail that goes from Walkill to the old gate house.
But if you do go back to Minnewaska, try the refurbished carriage road off Awosting lake.

I'm at 3 hours. So I stay overnight.

Really everything is open at this point-I rode there yesterday and the Aumick Rd Climb, around Awosting, and connector to Mohonk at Trapps are free of mud, snow, etc. At some point, Minnewaska does shut some of the roads down for bikes during the winter (even if there is no active snow/ice).

Thanks, jammie877, that's exactly what I wanted to ask. I'm not interested in riding Mohonk at this moment (too expensive for my little family), but just a connector between the Trapps bridge and Minnewaska, which as far as I remember doesn't require a Mohonk pass. And if one parks on a side of the road somewhere in the middle of this crossover, no Minnewaska pass is required as well. I bet this area will be covered by snow by the end of the week.
