wow, it's been awhile.
This is how we celebrated Thanksgiving day this year (see photos below). Wonder what Christmas day holds? I would like a night trail ride.
Hoping I make my goal of 3000 miles this year.
Thankful for my Lake boots. I like them so much and they are so comfy I dont want to take them off when I get home. In fact, while watching TV one night, and I was complaining my feet were cold, Mr AM says "go put on your Lakes"

hmmmm is it weird to wear your cycling shoes while watching TV in your jammies?
Are their regular riding shoes that nice too? may have to save up for a pair.
That is all.

ugh, just read my goals for this year that I posted up a year ago:
"like to hike more. At least once a week, if not twice.
Would like my waist to slim down a bit more.Would like to treat Mr AM to a vacation, away from home, at a place of HIS choice. And the hardest, to get my son riding again."

Well...FAIL! almost no hiking. waist = same. vacation didnt happen as we didnt win the lottery. son riding will happen when he gets me to do shadowboxing for fitness. 🙁

There is a new year coming!!!

You get to try again!!

Never try, just do. That's what someone somewhere always says!

MTBNJ.com BELIEVES in YOU.

But seriously, carbon soled slippers? Think there is a market?

Getting to 3000 miles is a nice achievement, and I thought I saw more than a few hikes on strava. Like Heckler says there's always next year for new goals. I set a ridiculous climbing goal last year that's not gonna happen (250,000 ft) but I'm still trying to get in as much as possible.

Hey JM - I think you could improve on this.

We all set goals in the beginning of the year. Some times it happens, some times it doesn't. But that's okay! As the year goes on, our goals always change. Whether it's exceeding the goal we created, or realizing that things got in the way of it and now we have to set a new goal that's more realistic. Injuries, work, family, money... they all play a part in that.

I would love to run once a week. But 99% of the time it doesn't happen. Man, even a hike would be nice. But sometimes I know that walking the garbage can back is the most "cross-training" I'll get that day. Shit happens.

I think we've all watched you grow on this forum. You're out there doing it. You're riding your bike in the cold while I'm in my basement spinning to 90's rap. When you're feeling down just remember how far you've come. That's success, my friend!

You're like the cheerleader of NJ MTB. I thought you always have a smile on your face. Look ahead, not back. Look at what you did, not what you didn't do.

Thanks, even cheerleaders have bad days and need encouragement once in a while. This has been a tough year for me. And I am thankful for the motivation I find on this forum.

Well, I guess it's that time again.
I did want to do a 30+ mile ride this past year. Came close on Christmas. Got home from work yesterday and thought, "hmmm I have one day to get that done" but instead plopped by butt in a chair, covered up with a soft warm blanket, and spent the afternoon crocheting. Oh well.

So here's my stats for 2014. As usual there was some discrepancies between Strava's totals and Garmin Connect's totals. Since Garmin allows me to sort activities by type, I chose to use their totals.

All Activities:
Count: 558 Activities
Distance: 3108.11mi
Time: 437:58:06 h:m:s
Elevation Gain: 73,421ft
Avg Speed: 7.2 mph
Avg HR: 125 bpm
Calories: 214,656 C
Max Speed: 80962.0 mph *** what's up with that LOL!
Max Avg Speed: 16.1 mph

Biking Only Activities:
Count: 531 Activities
Distance: 3078.22 mi
Time: 405:44:23 h:m:s
Elevation Gain: 71,577 ft
Avg Speed: 7.7 mph
Avg HR: 128 bpm
Calories: 209,399 C
Max Speed: *** mph (unreliable info. here)
Max Avg Speed: 16.1 mph (figure this has to be close to correct)

Noticed my average speed went down some but so did my average heartrate. This is most likely due to the fact that MrAM has been riding very conservatively this past year and I didnt want to drop him...although the past couple months he has given me the go ahead to drop him a few times a week.
