Over the last several days, and at the trail maintenance session today, several people asked about the next required training session. I have heard many times that people feel they do not need the training because they have done TM before, but it's unalterable: The Monmouth County Park System requires training of all persons wishing to do any work on the trails. The training is an insurance thing and covers you, the volunteer, should you get injured during the TM session. Fortunately, we've have never had any serious injury and we hope to keep it that way. The next "New Volunteer Training Session" will be held Saturday, May 15th from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon, at the Longstreet Farm, in the Longstreet Farm Training Room. (Longstreet Farm is a part of Holmdel Park.) The address is 44 Longstreet Rd., Holmdel, NJ, 07733. Contact # is 732-946-3758. For further information, contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Karen Livingstone at volunteer@monmouthcountyparks.com or 732-842-4000, ext. 4283. See you on the trails!

Nice! Good luck, and I will see you out on the trails. I work most Satrdays so it is hard for me to make Tm dates @ Hartshorn the last couple of years, as I have to ask for the day off a month in advance, and the boss still may not say it is OK.

Thanks

Greetings all,
I wanted to thank those that came out to the MCPS trails Training session, sorry i dont remember your MTB id's, but Chris and Andrew thanks for your support and valuable time and help.
We worked on the trail were we had to remove the old retaining wall and steps, we made the trail wider to accomidate a double width to allow 2 people to cross each other without issues. We also added in two more steps to allow for greater erosion control and "i have to say it turned out pretty sweet!"

Thanks again,
see you on the trails,

mike
