New bike shopping-anybody own a YT?

Anybody own a newer Izzo or Jeffsy? Both on sale, good enough spec for me, but the Jeffsy might be too much bike while the Izzo maybe not enough. I missed out on some of the good Specialized sales but the Stumpy Alloy Comp is discounted and a fair enough spec. Anybody?
Tanks.

@Robp77 does

I own a mk1 Jeffsy, which is not that far off from the mk2 in honesty (I think the mk2 got a slightly more efficient suspension curve and a few other tweaks to the geo)

Personally I've found the Jeffsy is a great jack-of-all-trades bike, but definitely can feel like a lot of bike depending where you ride.

I know @Tim has owned both a Jeffsy and an Izzo, he might be able to provide some insight.

Cool. Thanks.
A lot of modern bikes are more than needed for the average NJ trail, until that time you wish you had more bike. 😜

I have a YT Decoy. The quality is really good (not as nice as a non-direct to consumer brand though), component spec is fantastic for the price. I like the Izzo a lot and am considering getting one of those some day. What I can say is get at least core 3 build if you can swing it.

Exactly! It feels like a lot of bike for the XC stuff I have down in south jersey (Allaires, Camden County College, Maurice River Bluffs), but when I take it up north to Ringwood or the Poconos it feels right at home. Even at Wissahickon over in Philly it just plows through chunk like nothing else.

Unfortunately out of Core 3 and 4, thinking about the 2 because new bike and green.

I bought a new Core 2 Izzo last spring. I was not in the market for a new bike but I could not pass the deal up. I bought is on sale for $2400. I spend much of my time riding Allaire. I also spend large portions of my summer riding it in Vermont. It is definitely not too little or too much bike for any of the riding I do. At Allaire it is still fast enough to keep up with cross country friends. In the bike park it is still a blast on flow trails. On the chunky stuff you are certainly not plowing through rock gardens. It is a fun snappy bike that is a blast in the air. I came from a Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt. It would be hard to find a better spec'd bike for the money. I was also in between an Izzo and a Jeffsy. I am fast when pointed down and slow when going up. I went with the Izzo to not handicap myself with extra bike. Although I want to buy my son the Jeffsy!!!!!! I am very happy with the bike.

Thanks for the input. Looks like the sale is over but we'll see if they do something for the holidays. Cheers!

Sorry I am late to the party on this. I'll chime in even though it looks like the question is irrelevant at this point.

I owned a 2018 Jeffsy 27.5 prior to the Izzo. Bringing it all the way full circle, I thought Jeffsy was too much and found out the Izzo was not enough....for me. I'm on a Stumpy Evo now and love it. I ride for fun, not speed, so take that for what it's worth. I can go into much more detail on why I feel the way I do if there is interest.

Both bikes are a good value. Tough to beat for the price, especially when on sale. I agree the previous comment that they aren't as nice as non-consumer direct brand bikes, but we aren't talking anything major. More like paint quality and little things like that. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a YT again as long as the value was still there.

I appreciate the feedback and the Izzo sounds like it performs just as it's designed. Funny, I jumped on a buddies Stumpy and kinda liked it right away. We shall see.
Thanks again!

@extremedave what travel did you end up on the Orbea.
Haven’t changed anything so stock rear which I believe is 140 and the fork measures 160 crown to seal. The prior owner stated he had the fork set to 140 but it seems not unless coils don’t use 20mm of travel somehow?
