Hello all. Just got back into riding and am really stoked to be back on a mountain bike.

Started riding BMX as a kid. Then became a roadie during college. Moved to mountain biking when I discovered downhill riding at Mountain creek. Now I'm taking a shot at XC since this old body can't take the rigors of downhill anymore (not that XC is any less strenuous) nor can afford the kind of injuries I sustained that made me give up downhill for the most part. Love being out in the woods since I grew up in NYC and didn't have many places like that to ride.

Anyway, great to be a part of this community!

Welcome🙂

I'm originally from Brooklyn. As kids we all used to ride down stairways and jump milk crates with our stingrays for kicks. Who knew 30 years later we'd still be messing around😉

Thanks for the welcome! I'm originally from Brooklyn as well. I remember creating make shift ramps with discarded wood and milk crates or stacks of tied up newspapers from the corner store. Took a couple nasty spills trying to get some air!

Canarsie Here! Brooklyn in da house!
Being in Holmdel be sure to hit up Allaire and Hartshorne. Both about 15 - 25 min ride for you. Tues nights Allaire has a Beginner ride that can show you some trails and meet some locals that can then take you on a tour and then show you the FLOW... Enjoy

What up Canarsie? I grew up in Sunset Park/Bay Ridge. Only moved to Holmdel just a little over 3 years ago. I read about that beginner ride at Allaire and would love to join but alas I work in NYC and would never be able to make it in time for that ride. I'm planning to head there at some point and just give it a go!

Yo Rock just give a shout out on the board for a tour of Allaire and myself or 20 other chumps like myself will give you the guided tour. No charge of course.
