Greetings, been lurking for a day or so, checking out the boards. I figured I should introduce myself.
First off, my name is Mark, and I've been occasionally visiting some of the trails in the region (Monmouth, Cheesequake, Estell Manor) over the past couple of years. I'm a bigger guy (5'11", around 230#) in my late 30's, and I have an ancient Cannondale that I bought new in 1994 or so; I've since upgraded to V-brakes (it had sidepull calipers, originally), replaced the solid fork with an old Zokes suspension fork (it's heavy), and it does just fine for light trail work. I also have an older Trek road bike that I just cleaned up (haven't ridden a road bike in quite some time).
I live in Glassboro, and commute to the Southern shore area (near Sea Isle) every day for work.
I'm a decent, reasonably confident rider, but not reckless. 😉 I usually ride with a couple of my friends. I'm hoping to learn about some great places to ride, perhaps make some trail buddies to ride with. Also finding it edifying to read some of the informative posts (like the stickied trail etiquette post at the top - kudos to all for that!)
I'm also a semi-professional musician (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00111KU9I/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_dp) and sell upright basses for a living. I also was heavily into competitive radio-controlled auto racing for a while, though I've kind of cooled off on that hobby.
I guess that's about it for now. Looking forward to meeting some of you on the trails!
