newbie hub question

well hello...i gotta pretty silly question i was just thinking about....can u use a 20mm hub with say a 15mm fork or maybe say a regular QR fork...just wondering

Depending on the hub but some hubs you can get adapters to bring them down in size.

DT Swiss 240s oversize hubs are good at this. 20mm, 15mm, 9mm, QR all by changing the end caps (about $35 for a set of caps). I9s and chris king hubs come to mind also. But I'll let someone else chime in on the particulars.
