The New Jersey Interscholastic Cycling League (NJICL) is kicking off the 2025 season this coming weekend (3/29-3/30) at Chester's Highland's Ridge Park, with 425 students representing every NJ county pre-registered. If you've never been to a NICA event, we highly recommend checking one out. This is the future of our sport/pastime/hobby/thing, and the stoke level is maxed.

We set up the event on Saturday morning, with a pre-ride/course preview for coaches and students in the afternoon. Have or know a student in 5th through 12th grade who may be interested? Invite them to check it out - we can send adults/students out on course on a waiver to see what its all about! We'll also have an adventure ride happening at Dickerson Mine/Marty's Reliable of Randolph for registered students and families, departing the shop at noon. Families can join this ride on a waiver too, but we'll need rsvp's to plan for food. Rsvp here.

Interested in getting involved with NJ NICA? We have volunteer opportunities abound, both walk-on volunteer (signup here) and staff level (dm me) positions. This program is life-changing, both for volunteers and students. Give it a shot, you'll not regret it!

Mention MTBNJ at volunteer check in and get a random bit o' schwag! We have all kinds of bins to empty =)

Sunday's races kick off at 9am with 8th grade boys, and continue through the day:

Finish line support is also one of the best spots, IMO.... and there's one spot left to fill.

Nothing is more motivating than seeing these young athletes at the end of their race, and providing them the care they need; whether it's a high five, or literally helping them get off the bike and walk over to safety.
