Noob. Wish I was starting at 44

Hi everyone,

Myself and my wife are just getting started. I just started riding a hybrid on the street last year. I don't like taking my bike out in bad weather so I started looking at mountain bikes primarily for a bad weather machine with the hopes of some day taking it off road but I figured that was just a dream. I got my Mamba for Christmas and after a ride around the block I got my wife to join me for a look at Allaire. That was it and we are hooked. We have been out every weekend doing easy trail rides. She just got her 29er and we are gearing up for off road fun.

We will try to stay out of your way. We wear road ID's so you know where to send the bodies. She is in great shape so it would probably be a crash. I on the other hand may just drop dead from exertion.

Someones giving out candy canes on the trails!?! Thats great, I love Allaire! After one of the Allaire group rides over the summer someone gave out ice pops. I think candy canes are the winter equivalent...

Welcome awesome brick cyclist! Thats a good thing you and your wife enjoyed mountainbiking. Im just wondering if you guys agree on bike parts upgrades in the long run. I hope yes.😀

Welcome and the weekly beginner group rides @ Allaire have to be on your radar, great place, pace and people!
 
We get along great on the upgrades. The money not so much....

It is really cool that we get to do this together. We are trying to get our almost 11 year old interested and then we will be set. We are in very different circumstances but both complete beginners so it all just fits and seems to even out.

Yes! What beginner group rides and when. I did see some posts from last fall. We are in.

We are also happy to help in any way we can. I found this site looking for a way to help out at Allaire.

Tuesday nights, usually starting out in late spring and go right on through the summer. 6 pm start time from the Hospital rd lot. The pace is only as fast as the slowest rider can go. Great time, great bunch of people.

Keep an eye out here, they will surly be posted once they begin.
 
and the Mrs. checks in.....tacking onto the Mr. Betjet's intro I must also say hello! He pretty much gave you our lowdown. It is nice to have something we both enjoy doing.

Walter - I will keep my eyes open for the beginner rides. Sounds like a good time. Thanks for the information.

Good to hear that. I intoduce mtbng to my 12 year old son last year and he loves it. He just sometimes slacking if its just the two of us. Thats why we joined in a group rides to challenge him a bit.

Welcome to you both. We highly recommend the Tuesday evening Allaire rides. Great way to learn the park and meet other riders both beginners and experienced.Allaire is one of our favorite local spots to ride.

welcome aboard hope to see you on the trails like others have mentioned the Tuesday beginners ride are a blast we meet in the main lot at 6 and go out for a nice friendly ride.
