OOS MOGA

Guess no garbage pick up today. And looks like the plow came through and knocked it over, which means there are 20 pounds of dog shit on the streets to clean up. Btw, be kind to your mail carrier by making a path for them as needed. I stopped tipping them during Xmas just like the garbage guys after they stopped walking. Though they still do a decent job by me, I don't see a need to tip. Does anyone tip there's any longer or am I just dating myself?

we should try to make it out to the beach for a ride, anyone down there have ideas before it gets too cold with the winter shore breeze?

Off road Trails should be messy tomorrow. Saddle River bike path is plowed and was better than the roads last night. Think I’m riding there tomorrow
If there's still snow, I'll just ride the fat bike at the local parks, probably East County park in Warren. Haven't been there since last winter so good to scope out what's rideable.

I don't tip my garbage guys because in my 2 years here they've busted 3 trash cans by chucking them they also do leaf clean up and will not pick up the pile of branches that I have tied up so they can grab them all in one go. So I end up chipping them up and bagging them, I called the town and said they should take tied up branches :|.The mail man gets cash and cookies and a don't go postal on me message, he know if its raining the garage is unlocked and put the box in there so he's earned it.

Tip the garbage guys? When they are charging $900/year? Nope

btw @Mahnken , how's the foot healing, looks like the run contest ended prematurely, FU again Max

It was fine after a couple days, I had a couple runs since then. Wasn't the contest at least partly to help Max get back on track? I think he's a lost cause, lol.

My wife is from South Jersey, that's mostly why I moved down here. Came in real handy for childcare. Otherwise there's no way I'd live down here.

This.... we didn't get "that" much snow. Not enuff to cripple mass transit or mess up the roads. We had more snow b4 and we were fine.
They just weren't prepared.
no salting of the road until way too late

tractor trailers jack-knived on 287, going up moderate inclines. was actually driving on solid ice for a good 10 miles last night. thank goodness i had new tires from last year

the somewhat "frighteningly hilarious sighting" was of cars spinning on the highway, unable to move. The drivers saw an opening and wanted to change lanes to get into that empty space. What they didn't think about is that there's a good reason why no one else is in that empty space. Actually a bit unnerving to drive by them.

I stopped at the bank and bakery on my way home starting to feel like I was goofing off as traffic was building up behind me.

Speak of scary 287 moments yesterday... at around 6:30 pm, after the snow turned to sleet, and spending hours crawling at <3mph...the accumulation of sleet on and below the wipers blades caused them to stop working all together. I’m in the left lane, no shoulder on either side, in no mans land exit wise and we’re all packed like sardines. Till I could inch my way over to the right lane and make it to the exit, I thought I was screwed. I think my handprint are now permanently molded in to the steering wheel. :|

that's just down right scary... glad you made it out

some poor lady didn't make it. car hit by a NJ Transit train at a level crossing (probably stalled from the incline)

if i ever buy a house and still find myself in the region, i'm getting snow tires (or better yet, staying the f*** away from the roads on such days)
