Peezy's Black Magic 2013

You beat me to it! The dockworkers probably hadn't factored Hinault into their protest.

He hasn't calmed down much.

Lest we forget, he could also ride the hell out of a bike. 1980 Liege Bastogne Liege. He won the stage by 9 minutes and change. Still can't feel two fingers. BADGER! (Jens Voigt is a *****.)

thats freaking awesome on so many levels; mandi and i are going through froyo withdrawl. i cant have that frozen goodness when it is so cold, mandi would have froyo in a blizzard

yeah, in the summer i go to wawa for an icee, in the winter i go to wawa for hot chocolate. icee in winter just aint as good.

I broke down FRIDAY and had Froyo after dinner with the northerners. I think it was called for, mostly because we had some spicy delicious Mexican food at Don Joses right before. It also wasn’t below freezing, so I don’t know if I call that cold. Regardless, we were sitting inside in the warmth which totally doesn’t make sense to me. We can agree that ice cream/froyo is more thoroughly enjoyed outside.

SATURDAY was something I was looking forward to all week on many fronts. I was speaking with Eric about the course and the cool things we could possibly add. We arrived early and got straight to work. It was rather easy and we may have had 20 people. Luke was in love on his tractor, mowing anything that stood in our way. Eric showed me a section of the course he wanted to add, and I was by myself envisioning something rad. I think it came out well. Eventually the rest of the crew came over and hammered the hell out of it, grooming it to perfection. Now we just need some rain/snow, and everyone can fall and slide down it J

After we organized a small class trip to Manville Pizza. Capers claims that all pizza is the same and I had to challenge him on it. Got some solid slices from the grumpy old man behind the counter and to my surprise, he wasn’t impressed. He said it was good, but it’s all the same. I blame the curly hair.

With full bellies we headed over to the Sourlands. Riding the cross bike so much last year, I remember how bad my skills went to shit after cross was over. I’ve been on the MTB more this year during the season I think, and I’m hoping I’m not a complete fool. This would be a good test anyway. Mandi, Luke and Lou all roll around and we have some good times. Hikers galore at the time we left, but you can’t blame them on this beautiful day. Capers somehow got lost and we left him to die. He came out of the woods a couple of minutes later.

5 Guys afterwards. It was the perfect day. Greasy food, mountain bikes, TM (or grass maintenance). We then spent the next 5 hours relaxing and watching TV.

SUNDAY I was able to sleep in and smash a waffle at the local diner, Time to Eat, which is close to our new home as well. Man, this place just keeps kicking ass with really good food. 2 waffles and 1 coffee only set us back $11 bucks. Slowly organize a similar crew (minus Luke) to ride Water Co. Been trying to get these two (Mandi and Lou) down here for a while and the stars finally aligned. The only negative of the whole day was that the leaves were pretty fluff. Could barely see the trail. Oh and that Mandis chain kept dropping. But we can fix that. No mud, no deaths. This is good.

Capers was kind enough to stop and take some photos

Stopped at the local deli afterwards in Lambertville (City Market) with the crew and saw my weakness in the cooler full of drinks; Mexican Cokes. Had to have one. Enjoyed the foul mouth Capers/Lou combination at lunch and had a bunch of laughs.

We made it home just in time to watch Utah’s fantasy dreams of staying in first place die. I decided to take matters into my own hands and try and install Mandis new 10 speed stuff. She was less than thrilled I was going to attempt it. After a couple of miscues on my part, I was able to figure it out with consulting the googles and Utah a couple of times. I forgot to turn off the clutch, and had the chain wrapped through the RD wrong 😛

Mandi’s now ballin:

Not only does it look correct, but I was actually able to ride around the driveway and shift all the gears!

This weekend was a nice change of pace from the last, say, 10. I enjoy the competition of cyclocross very much, but I also really enjoyed the social pace of smashing rocks with good friends.

HOUSE
Monday morning I get an email that the house passed its updated electrical and shit is about to go down! We should be closing this week. Thus, my life ends for the month or so. I will update you with house along the way.

This is why I cannot be around children. My Mouth is the foulest of the foul. I get it from my Dad, which is ironic because he gets paid a fucking shit-ton of money to speak all over the world. Can't explain that!

I rode mountain bikes with not one, but two Pearls this weekend two days in a row! Aweyea.jpg.
