Pirate trail jumps in princeton taken down

There were some jumps built on the side of a hiking trail in Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve in Princeton that had popped up in the past year and I was really enjoying them. The park noticed and tore them down. I’m kinda bummed at the loss of these jumps and I’m wondering if anyone has any advice to advocate for a legitimate mtb trail to be made in the area?

You are already behind the 8 balls if they tore features out. Many of those small parks are technically no bikes so you might meet resistance right away. It is recommended to find out if bikes are allowed because if they aren’t you can start with how to make them legal.

See if you can find out who manages the park, it might not be Princeton.

Once you have that info, approach the land manager and ask them where to start. Do not lead with how do we add trails and features. start with how can we help maintain and build the relationship first. It takes awhile.

I would seriously consider if you want to make your name known to the land managers. It can work out to be good but you can also be blamed for people doing rogue stuff in the park (like they are now).
