Possibly relocating. Looking for opinions.

So, we pulled the trigger. NJ house closes next Friday and we will be in Middletown, MD(Frederick suburb) by Christmas. I don’t hate NJ, I just hate the negatives that out way the positives(and the positives are pretty awesome). House is less than a mile from all the schools(excellent ratings), has a huge $13 million upgrade going in to heritage park which is adjacent to our development as well as Gambrill state park. So all this within 3 miles of the house, 10 min to downtown Frederick, much lower taxes, gas prices, insurance etc. so even if I take a pay cut we will be in a good spot. Centrally located between Frederick and Hagerstown. An hour to Baltimore, 45 min to DC and 3 airports within an hour. Appalachian Trail 3 miles away. I’m pumped. The family is pumped. I may be 44 but we are finally getting out of Jersey. Not trying to offend anyone but for me personally, between the hectic work schedule, commuting and onslaught of people moving in it’s not for me anymore.

I know when I finally move my biggest pros will not include an insane number of airports or being anywhere near DC or Baltimore. I would leave NJ to be nowhere near those things.

The former president, also well versed in global climatic issues, recently bought a very expensive ocean front beach house on the Atlantic Ocean, I think DT at 1.5 miles from the beach should be fine for a while...
Not sure if this is serious or not.

Mara Lago? Elevation there is 16 ft - same as our house in Venice (we are about 4 miles from the beach as the crow flies). With sea level rise expected to be about 1 ft by 2050, I'm not worrying about it!

It's always amusing when someone that spends most of their time talking about how much NJ stinks and how great FL is pops on to say how amusing it is to see people being derisive of where someone else chooses to live 😘😘😘

It's always amusing when someone who takes my occasional "nj stinks" comments seriously doesn't seem to realize I live half the year in NJ and then proceeds to be derisive about my comments on others being derisive!

I love NJ, I want to leave NJ for the chance to have something similar but cheaper.

Staying in the US were looking outside Albany in niskayuna. If I land this gig we are already ready to list and I'll unhappily leave.

Rick comes here half the year because Florida sucks, he just won't admit it.

There’s a strong argument for renting. Not sure if that has been said. No way im buying a house in this market. The tom foolery is so evident in my eyes.

I went to 1 open house then watched what happened. The house went for 18% over asking which the asking was already inflated. Wonder what the new tax rate is fir that new owner?

There's a strong case for renting all the time...The biggest being an astronomical amount of free time and money.
