Raystown: FAFO

Consider this just another thing that "isn't better".

Doge just saved $400K in costs, but threw away $1.2 million in revenue.

I suppose they could always turn it into a concentration camp.

Never realized Raystown was a federal park, I always thought it was State like Round Valley. That sucks.

Article says 1.2 million in yearly revenue not 12 million. So yeah it's a net loss but not to the degree you stated.

Army Corp of Engineers maintains the dam, campgrounds and the facilities open to the public. Bike trails are still open, campgrounds have been closed. Reservations for camping have been cancelled and refunds issued. Boat ramp is still open I believe as is the area leased to private companies: the marina and restaurant in there.

This article doesn't tell the entire story. 1.2m in revenue may not be enough to cover all costs as they only spoke about the $400k needed for seasonal staff. it's could be the case that this is a huge loser monetarily for the fed even when making the 1.2m annually. Also, it assumes ALL 1.2m will be lost which likely isn't the case. Too many holes in that article to paint a full picture of the situation either way. Bottom line, without a full accounting there's no way to make a judgement one way or another.
