Relacing a wheelset using a rim with a slightly smaller ERD

I am relacing a wheelset I purchased a while ago using a more capable rim (still aluminum = peasant, mind you) that has a slightly smaller ERD, the original was 596mm and the new one is 594. The 596 already accounts for the washers that were not installed on the original wheelset. Would the spokes take the additional 1mm on each end? If necessary, could I just use two washers with each spoke and get away with it?

If it's a double wall rim (and they were sized to hit the bottom or top of the slot), it won't make a bit of difference. You can thread a spoke on with about 3mm of extra sticking out.

Also depends on who measured the ERD. Never assume it's accurate.

They’re both DT Swiss rims. Double wall, plenty of room there. Only problem that worried me is they’re aero spokes, looks like they flare to flat very soon at the end of the thread.
