Returning at 29...

It has been a long time since I sat on a bike and road down the street but something this spring hit me and I wanted to get back into riding. After a few months of searching for a bike I picked up a used Giant Ds1 off a buddy of mine for a good price. It needs a bit of work and I am still researching all the new stuff that has come on the market since I stopped riding quite a few years ago.

But anyway, my name is Corey, I am 29 years old and am getting back into the sport. Using the internet right now to learn what I need but I am about to buy a couple books that I found on amazon. I am looking forward to getting to know you guys and learning alot from you. If anyone has any advice or suggestions please feel free to pass them on, I am open to all ideas. Thank you.

Welcome aboard, and welcome back. At 29, youre a young fella with many years of riding and new bikes ahead of you, enjoy!

welcome to the club 🙂 i too started maybe a month back and its like an addiction ... i am constantly looking at new places to ride, trying to catch up on the years I missed 🙂

As mike said "just ride and have fun"

Welcome.
learn by riding. going on group rides is a good way to pick up pointers on riding and gear from other cyclists.

Welcome to the site. Like everyone else said, just get out and ride. Really cant learn anything from books.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I would be out riding but the bike that I bought needs a little bit of work and tweaking that I have to learn from books or videos online. LoL. Looks like the previous owner completely unadjusted the rear shock, lost parts of the axles and the brakes need new pads. Just minor stuff but it is slow going since I don't know any good parts and what not, just going to take time. But once again thank you for the warm welcome.
