Anyone have any experience with these? I'm looking for a new wheelset and Nashbar has a pretty killer deal on them.

Look light and seem to have good reveiws. :hmmm:

Thanks,

Tim

205. They don't have any weight limit on them and I'm running EA-90 SLXs now that only have 18F and 24R so I figured they would be OK.

Thoughts?

I believe the Mayor rides them daily. I haven't heard anything bad about them from him or others.

I've been running Reynolds Carbon clinchers for over 5 years (set up tubeless) and have never touched a spoke. I've slammed potholes, hopped curbs and ridden dirt with no ill effects. Essentially, I've done everything I tell my customers not to do with their road bikes.

Oh, Swiss Stop pads or plan to go deaf.

Mine are the Assaults. They're very most excellent.

Right. Attacks are 32mm, Assaults are 46mm IIRC.

The Reynolds "Cryo" blue pads they come with are really nice. I like them better than Swissstop Yellow and they're cheaper to boot.

Sorry I wrote Attacks but the sale is on the 46mm Assaults.

Norm,

How does the wind affect these, is it a big deal?

Thanks,

Tim

Dude, you weight 205 pounds. Unless it's 40 mph you're not going anywhere.

Love,
Norm

🙂

Norm,

Thanks for the reality check. 😱 I kind of figured this, but I have never ridden with any sort of aero wheels.

Buying now.

Thanks,

Tim

Tim:

You have any rides on these yet? They are back up on Nashbar for $800. Ends tonight.

Dave,

I have a few rides on them and they are really nice. I can feel the difference at speeds over about 18mph. The ride is much smoother also. I do notice more flex when cranking up hills, but that may be due to my fat ass.😱

The graphics are a bit loud, but not as bad as I thought after I got them mounted.

Tim

Dave,

Here is a quick shot of them on the bike. I'm thinking about either stripping off the decals, or getting some with red or grey lettering.

Those look pretty good. I kinda want to get clinchers next time but I picked up these 50mm tubulars with lots of miles left on the tires and a nice ultegra cassette for 400 bucks to complete my Pan Asian Road bike.

Bigger Pic please. 😀

Never mind, when I first looked the Pic was very small now fine? 😕

What kind of bike is that?

Haha Pan Asian meaning everything is from the continent of Asia. Frame is PlanetX which is kinda well known in UK and is raced with the pros. Mine is older and i think they are made in China or Taiwan. But I do like it, it feels great and the compact geometry for a 5'10" 195lbs fella like me is nice. I got 105 5700 used group on it, Japan, haha. And the wheels are from Taiwan, they are not light weight but are great on the uphills and slice though the wind nicely (crosswinds are a death trap) haha. Weigh about 1700 grams. My total bike weight is about 19lbs.
