San Francisco - Sacramento Trip Suggestions???

I am flying to San Francisco then driving to Sacramento for a few days in October for a wedding. Any suggestions on bike shops with rentals near decent single track? I am looking for some fun singletrack with flow to it. Not crazy about taking my brother-in-law riding along the edge of a cliff or anything crazy like that.

Anyone ride out there or have any leads on a good shop to rent from?
 
I was out there last spring. The locals keep whatever singletrack is still legal pretty close to their chests. You may be better off trying to get your hands on a road bike. The road riding in the area is amazing: Napa, Sonoma, and Mt. Tam etc. There are road riders everywhere. I don't know if they rent but I visited a shop in Sausalito called http://www.bicycleodyssey.com/ They have an amazing selection of road and mountain bikes, and the store is like a museum of Nor' Cal' MTB history
 
I am also going to do some research on the trails listed on the http://www.fatrac.org/?q=node/3 website. They appear to be the trail maintenance/riding group located in and around Sacramento. Did you hear anything about any of these locations? I guess I will need to contact a local since trailhead directions consist of "take highway past scenic falls and make a left." 😡

BTW - the abovecategorycycling shop has some pretty sick (i.e. expensive) stuff.:drooling:
