Draconid Meteor Shower - friday night

Best thing about this one is that it starts early! Since there isn't any compelling baseball to watch.

There is a night launch out of virginia next week (planned 10/13) - will bump it as we get closer.
we watched for an hour but no sights, my younger's really getting interested in this. But Mars was really visible near the moon
the Orionids later this month is suppose to be the best shower for October

viewing from my front porch about 30 seconds later.
the rocket launches goes east so it will fly in the southeastern sky from our vantage point.

double bonus - look for the ISS at 7:33 tonight - rises out of the NW, towards ESE.
Max height is 69dgrees above horizon (a little more than 2/3rds up)

this should be a good one with the full moon rising in the east.

Lots happening up there tonight!

I think I just read that the launch got postponed to tomorrow night now
