Slight knee pain after riding when sitting/standing

Saddle position shouldn't change because of your stem lenth. The saddle should be set up to give you proper position with relation to your pedals (proper leg extension, position of knee over pedal, ect.). Once thats correct, then reach can be adjusted by stem length/angle. You might want to consider getting a bike fit from a pro. Jason at Halters did all this good stuff for me on my road bike, I can ride all day on that bike and feel fantastic.

Yeah what I meant to say is the longer stem is stretching me out to an uncomfortable position and I'm not sitting in the saddle correctly. I'm going to try moving the saddle forward and down just a tad and spinning a little easier of a gear.

I went out tonight last minute so I didn't adjust my bike but did stretch. Rode hard for 45 minutes, no pain at all on the ride, minimal pain sitting after the shower tonight.

I think it's just a muscle imbalance/ pushing too big of a gear on weak legs. I'm going to pick up running a few days a week and try spinning a little quicker and see how that works out.

Remember to make only slight adjustments to your seat position, try it and if it doesnt help move it a bit more. I would also suggest a bike fitting to get you set up properly.

Or, you may just be pushing yourself to hard to early on. Kinda like the guy that goes to the gym after not doing anything for 20 years and blows out his elbows trying to do 65 pound dumbell curls.
