Specialized Demo Day

That is friggin awesome. I hope I could take a look at their new line up of mtbs. I have not been to a specialized bike shop in ages.

Answered my own question: Knapp's says they will have 2011 models there. I call dibs on a large Epic 29er.

Just got back. No 2011s...only 2010 models. But they have a ton of 2010s...road and MTB.

8 to 3ish. Other than a few triathalon types trying road bikes, there was no one there all day. I was the only MTB guy there all morning. It was kind of nice.

Sorry no pics since they were 2010s. If they were 2011s, I would have bombarded you with pics.

It was my first ride on a XX-equipped bike. Wow. I hope all the SRAM 10-speed stuff this year shifts that well.

i had a great time I demo'd 2 sworks and they wanted me to ride more, service was knowledgeable and fast, they really put on a great showing I was impressed, props

The Trailer

Sorry, not many pics. I was too busy riding.

The S-works 29er HT was the fastest bike I've ever ridden. Bar None! The S-works 26 carbon was probably the best all around bike I've ever ridden. I need both of them. STAT.

No pics = bummer.

Anymore Spz demo days? Where do you guys find this? I did not see it on their main website.

I was actually at Knapp's bike shop looking for a bike and they happened to mention it there. It wasn't on specialized's website at all which I thought was stupid. I guess there's so many people at the triathlon that they really didn't need to advertise. Knapp's bike shop Does demos every weekend at Mercer County Park I believe. You've got to have demos, who the heck is going to buy a $5000 bike without riding it first?

It was listed...but its buried in their site. They'll be in Philly in September and they should have the 2011 bikes at that event (as per the demo guys at Mercer Park). Here is the link:

I gotta say, I am surprised at how poorly bike companies market their products. If you are going to spend the time to set up a demo and let people beat on your products, you could at least make sure people are aware of it. I'm on Spesh's email list and was never notified. How hard would have that been? I was lucky to catch this thread in time.

That being said, I've attended Specialized, Giant, and Trek demos this year and all have been well-run with plenty of great bikes to ride. The people who work the demos are fantastic; I just wish they had stronger marketing departments to support them.
