Judging by my yard, no. I’m not that close to Stephens (25 minute drive) but my yard has always been a pretty good indicator. It may still be rideable though. It’ll just be on crunchy snow and maybe ice.Anyone know if the snow/ice base layer melted off since HiFiGuy's ride on Wednesday?
Risky, one of my fat biking locals said past few days in deer park were good but yesterdays melt and overnight freeze equals ice skates.Anyone know if the snow/ice base layer melted off since HiFiGuy's ride on Wednesday?
Judging by me still a lost weekend before us. I'd say anything on the route 80 corridor and north. Hoping to here different so I can get something this weekend that's not allaire.Any updates on the ice on the trails?
Thank you!I did a Chainsaw Mission into Stephens today (Monday 3/3). From Nicole drive, I cleared the reported obstructions on “Golden trail” and “XX trail”. Then I moved over to the Firetower Road access, to get blowdowns on “Land of the lost” and “Long Way Round”. I did a small handful of other tune-ups along my route. (except for one on Orange) This catches me up on the older intel, from before the big ice up. With all the big winds we’ve been having, I’m sure there’s a lot more that I’m not tracking. Ride conditions quite acceptable today, with the occasional soft spot and snow remnants. With a run of milder weather in the forecast, I’m sure you’re all itching to ride again! Please keep the blowdown pics and accurate GPS locations coming. Also there’s a lot of smaller branches on the trail, it’s always greatly appreciated if you kick them aside.
I was at Stephens last Sunday so it's not the most current of reports but the top was all in great shape. It was cold so most was frozen. However the bottom, a total nightmare. Middle maze has seen a lot of rutting from people riding when it's muddy. The trail next to the NICA trail, that was still icy AND muddy. I can only imagine that still being quite the mess.Any intel on the conditions please?
