First time on a "normal" bike since... June. If anyone wonders if you can maintain or even gain some fitness only riding an ebike, I somehow managed to set a few PRs during this ride. 🤷♀️ ...that said - holy shit did this bike feel weird to ride for the first 20 min or so.

Test ride... My first time riding anything other than gravel since fracturing ribs at the DH park a few weeks ago. Feeling pretty ok but old-guy recovery sure is slow... I'm heading to Grand Junction for an enduro race next weekend so it's time to chill until then.

I was half way between the firetower and the firetower road taking this photo and heard rustling behind me. Turned and saw a bear trotting around the corner. Yes, it was somewhere between walking and an all out run, so I'm gonna say trotting. First thing I thought is shit, he's coming for me, but he immediately turned and trotted off in the direction he came from when he saw me.
All I can think is he was coming to check out the noise I made walking around and turned once he saw what I was. Freaked me out. I sat under the firetower for a while and then made a lot of noise when I left, which had to be in the direction he came from. Didn't see him again.
where is this?
