started to rain at “The Ranch” so rather than spend the next x number of hours cold and wet, I pointed myself towards the Proper Fifty and never looked back. The route basically rode away from the rain… so… I soon had blue skies and sun all the way back 👍

Saturday warm up ride. We have never seen this creek crossing so low:

There were a few "puddles" upstream of the trail crossing. Literally "fish in a barrel" for this heron (10x digital zoom, hence the graininess):

Sunday! Huge organized group ride down in MD. A ride my team usually has a solid group at every year. We had about 18 riders in our group, although we did end up splitting up a bit:

The ride has organized aid stations are regular intervals. But about 10 years ago, we started a tradition of having our own "aid station" hidden in the woods:

Yes... a cooler packed with PBR and sliced tomatoes. Plus, mayo, bread and salt/pepper. I'd never had a mayo and tomato sandwich before, but it hit the spot 26 miles into a 33 mile ride...
