Columbia Trail. Not too bad. The path through Ken Lockwood not so good. The Columbia Trail north of the trestle bridge was good, but between the bridge and High Bridge was super bumpy.

Fatbike only or is the popular route getting packed down for mid fat tires too ?

A lot of it is probably rideable on a non-fat bike, but not sure how that will change with temps changing the next few days. My guess is tomorrow will get a little mushy, but it will be better Thursday and Friday before more mush this weekend.

I only saw fat bikes and one plus bike out there, and if I didn’t have a fat bike, I’d try it on my regular after seeing what it was like. But don’t hate me if you get frustrated and end up cursing a lot.

Gravel bike at Sandy Hook. For those who want to put in some miles -on something other than a fatbike -away from traffic, this is the place right now. The bike path has been cleared and no salt was used. Roads are cleared well but tons of salt like everywhere else. And the only other people that are out there are seal watching. And no seals right now so it was a ghost town.

Debated back and forth to ride outside with the wind and finally said F it and went for it. Gravel bike in road mode. Convinced my buddy to join (last name Miller hence the title) and it wasnt as bad as I expected it to be, especially when hes pulling me along pretty much the whole ride. Feet were just getting cold and I had to get ready for a work call so didnt try to extend the time today. Hope to get a longer ride tomorrow or sometime this weekend outdoors its been too much Zwift time for sure.

If anyone was wondering the Columbia trail is still covered in snow. the spot where we stopped that crosses Naughright road still had 8" snow mounds to enter the trail and while there is a packed down path its full of footprints and ruts down the middle 12-15" wide path then the edges are just deeper snow. The main trailheads may be better due to the foot traffic but its still a no go for me - fatbike might be ok but probably a lot of work and less fun.
