Things that make you frown :(

Just what I needed...nothing like a blown brake hose 10 minutes from home. Glad it didn't happen while driving down the turnpike.
CV joint boot was ripped and appeared to contact the brake line and wear a hole in the rubber line while the wheel was turned. Hopefully parts will be in tomorrow to fix the line, someone else will do the CV joint.

One of the scariest driving experiences I had was on the way to the Tappan Zee and while in the left lane someone broke hard in front of me, I hit my brakes and saw all my brake fluid squirt out from under my left fender and pedal went to the floor with no brakes.

No shoulder to my left when I hit the brakes and a split second later the road opened up with a shoulder and I barely got into it missing the car in front of me.

Got a tow home. Replaced that section of hard line, bled the brakes, drove it around the block and it stopped fine. Subsequently just said F it and parted the car out as that new brake line was the only non rusting part of the car. In fact my e-brake was all rusted and non functioning which didn't help the above situation.

I was at the stop light and the pedal just went right to the floor. Was able to milk it home as she would stop, just needed a little extra real estate. Down shifting the automatic trans was good on the long slow stop.

I believe they do sell open CV boots to replace the broken ones without having to take the axles off the transmission/transaxle , it may buy you some time but I don't think is the best solution.
