How did your lever break if you don't mind me asking? I've only bent one Shimano XT lever and it was bent upward, which I don't think the Flo lever would protect against. I've been looking at the Flo levers for a while as a replacement for their look mainly, as I just don't see how a brake lever would be pulled away from the grips in case of a crash. Pricewise I don't believe they're much more expensive then the original ones go retail.

I've done that. Somehow front wheel goes sideways, bar end hits the ground perpendicular, and rock jams between bars and lever. The Flo levers have an addition hinge that allow them to move away from the barstools almost a 90 degree angle.

I guess I was lucky, every time I crashed on a rock either hit my bike frame or my body.

Your lever seem to be well protected being that far 'inside' the bars, but again, $**t happens so moar protection moar betterer...
 
This may or may not help. I do not make my levers very tight. I make them just tight enough that they don’t move when I am riding but if you pull or push the they will shift on the bars. I started doing this riding at the creek…. Drop the bike and the lever just shifts on the bars rather than snaps off….. just a thought, hope it helps.
 
Both times I feel in the rocks. Not really a crash. Didn't get hurt. The first time the lever broke off completely. I have never broken any other levers. I think it's a crappy design. 😕

How do you know it’s dog shit? I was riding in alpine this week an an Asian women was taking a dump on the trail. I have read there is a whole thing out there about out door poop dropping. Don’t blame the dogs, it could be hippies!😁
 
Phillies having an Epic collapse with the top of the lineup just having 2 hits in 19 at bats with 11 strikeouts. Turner, Harper and Schwarber fall flat every post season with the bottom of the lineup count for all 6 runs in the 2 games.
