Sacrificed yet another wheel to the potholes of NJ. At least it didn’t cut my ride short yesterday but I didn’t realize it dinged the rim until I got back. There’s a differnt spot that has a little scratch near the brake surface I thought was the issue so I changed the tube and kept going for another 70 miles. Glad it held and didn’t blow off the rim.

Time to search FB MP for some decent carbon rim brake wheels 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️😢

cant tell from the picture, but if that's an aluminum brake track you can probably massage it back enough to work, at this point you got nothing to lose.
So funny you should ask because all this time I assumed they were full carbon but it seems like these are actually lightweight alum with carbon fairing and the black special mavic coating in the brake track.

Same wheels I already found for sale. I paid less than half of that for mine 3+ years ago from a friend.

I’ll have to check a little more and see but honestly I don’t know I want to risk having the tire blow off the rim on a fast downhill
With 90+ psi.

Another one mostly for the sake of amusement, but still pretty annoying.

I received 2 parking citations in the mail from Rutgers yesterday, which I found odd because I have never parked at Rutgers in my 21 years living in the state and can't even recall the last time I was in the vicinity of Rutgers. The citations include photos of a vehicle and license plate. The license plate does match one of mine (which I've had for 8 years) but the vehicle very much does not. I double checked and nobody has stolen the plates off of my car, so assuming there's either a DMV screwup or someone is driving a Toyota Corolla around Rutgers with fraudulent plates. Either way I'm sure this is going to be a blast to resolve.

Have fun with that. I once got stopped in upstate NY and the officer told me that NJDMV shows that my plates had been turned back in to the DMV. I had the registration in my hand as well as valid insurance and obviously the plates were still on my car. Cop still wanted to impound my car. After a lot of back and forth I got away with a ticket for driving and unregistered vehicle. That was fun to fight as I needed a written letter from NJDMV to send to the court in NY admitting that NJ had made a mistake. Took many phone calls to people who could not or would not help. Eventually several calls to the NJDMV legal department and I was able to get the letter. For the amount of time I spent I probably should have just paid the ticket, but F that.

Make sure it is not a scam.

Make sure it is not a scam.

Pretty confident that it's legitimate but that's always a good idea. All of the links for payment/dispute are the correct ones for Rutgers. It's possible that the person with the plate is pulling some kind of scam which is why I want to resolve it asap with the DMV.
