Tires for Allaire

So what Tires are you running at Allaire? Do you like them? Why? Do you not like them? I'm looking for a new set of tires to replace my Maxxis Ardent Race, and I'm curious what you guys are rolling on.

XR2/Ranger in the back, DHF/XR4 in the front, at least until winter. Once the sand becomes a bit more manageable, you can downsize the knobs in front, imo.

last time i rode allaire regularly was on xr2s, they work just fine down in the land of sand.

My favorite was the 26x3.8 knard, it was fast and allowed you access to all the beachy areas sand land has to offer.

You do not need a lot of knobs, 29” small block 8’s worked great back in the day or most other low profile tires.

My ss has Terravail Ehlines on it right now. That's a 29er. My Fathom is 2.6 x 27.5 , that's the one I'm looking for a better tire. The Ardent Race has issues with hard cornering.

The Vittoria tires are very interesting, I always liked the GEAX treads.

vittoria barzo front mezcal rear 29x2.35 has been the best combo for me. ive tried alot of maxxis xc tires and the vitorias have had more grip and are just as fast.

Last Saturday I rode Mezcal 2.1 front and rear, as I did every other time I ride there (maybe 4 times). I survived just fine each and every time.
