Toddler seat- Front vs rear

I think it's a cool idea but the main issue is that if you crash, baby flies forward and you land on top.

I always disliked the fact that my daughter would just be looking at my back. She would have been much more interested in a front seat like that.

Exactly. The thought of a crash with the little guy on the bars of my bike makes my stomach turn. A trailer is a roll cage with the little one strapped in like a Nascar racer. He's all loaded up with fruit snacks and water for the ride.

So for fathers day my mother-in-law got me a WeeRide. I just put it on today. I am not to happy with it. My knees hit the sides and the thought of a crash does not make me happy. I will give it a few more rides to see if my thoughts change but I don't think they will.

Just looking at the photo scares me! 🙁

Get the trailer.

I used a trailer with my kids. The can also carry some toys so the do not get bored. I also got a kickstand which helped a lot.

that front carrier is complete garbage. Completley idiotic and dangerous. If something even slightly hinders your maneuverability then your risk of not saving yourself from a crash that would have been easily avoided before is significantly higher.

Dont sacrifice safety for a slight increase in your perception of your childs enjoyment.

Next these tools are going to design a childseat to mount in front of the handlebars or on the hood of a car.

Think lifesaving in a water rescue, you sacrifice all of the victims comfort to allow you to have as much control as possible, even putting the victim in between you and rocks/pilings because if you are also hampered then the risk is much greater to both of you.

The real question is how is this even a question, its your childs safety.

I tried the rear seat when my kids were little. It made me extremely uncomfortable so I got rid of it and got a trailer like the one posted earlier. It was great and I could put both kids in at one time! I sold it a couple years ago. IMO that's the only way to go.

I returned that thing today. I tried it 2 times and was just to nervous about crashing (Not that I was going fast at all) with him in front of me. Now I am on the look for a trailer. Can anyone recommend one or have one for sale?

I wouldn't recommend anything but a trailer. In the unlikely event that you fall, there is no way to protect your child. With a trailer, no matter what angle your bike is the traileris mostly level. Clear choice for safety is a trailer. Yes it is a lot to lug....but you can always carry a cooler full of beer in it....I mean water.
