We will be having a trail maintenance session on Wednesday July 29th at 6pm. We will meet at the house on Middlebush Road, next to where the trail crosses the road.

We will have some tools available, but if you have a shovel, stiff garden rake or a hand saw, bring them along. We will need to cross the stream, so be prepared for wet feet.

We will be repairing a muddy section by raising the trail tread, and fixing some damaged trail near the stream crossing.

Come get your paydirt!

I'll be out there helping Jason out. For all those that have been asking here is a chance to give some love back to the park. Come join us for some hump day sweating and digging.

is this a rain or shine event?

If we get superstorms in the afternoon, we will not work.

Check here tomorrow afternoon for an update. I dont want to get anyone struck by lightning. Hopefully the weather will hold up for us.

are you talking about the stream crossing before that one bridge, after the section of cornfield trail? or the one before the crossing on the blue?

Tonight is a No Go.

Since it looks like we will have heavy storms with lightning for the remainder of the afternoon, we will cancel the session for tonight. 😡

Safety is no. 1, so lets not take the big bolt to the head and get the work done another day.

Hopefully next week will bring better weather and we will reschedule. Thanks to all who intended on showing up, we will have at it again soon enough! :getsome:

Thanks Again,

Jason P.

Alex, what crash? Are you alright, what happened.

The front slipped on wet wood boards. It happened too fast so i did not have a chance unclip - I landed on my right leg and sprained the ankle. Nothing serious, a couple of weeks and I'll completely forget the accident.

Wobbe you didn't even mention this to me the other night..not that you had the chance..I was kind of excited... & I have been lax in the board lately. In a way I am glad the tm is rained out today cuz I'd like to make it.

First spencer now alex.. I fell on the same one spencer did. We should put some grip tape on the first few boards. Ill do it.. If I have permission.. J? Jason?

Yeah, the entrance to that boardwalk is tough. I talked to J about it a while ago. He has plans to change the front up a bit.

In the meantime, I see no issue with some grip tape, if you want to make that happen, go ahead.

Grip tape will only work as long as it takes for the tape to get covered with mud, which won't be long. You need some of the wire mesh stuff you see on pictures of north shore stuff.

Fixing the entrance will be the solution. Its way to off camber the way it is now.

This is the set of undulating bridges on the blue trail right? Installed during a TM day about a year ago?

I hate the angle of the first set of boards. Way too steep and nearly throws me over the bars when I hit it. I have to slow way down and then the rest of the boardwalk is kinda silly with no speed. When I mentioned this to others, I'm told I have to "Manual" it. 🙄 Yeah...well...I don't have that skill set so it just blows. I've noticed sticks and dirt piled in front of it so smooth the transition. I guess others share my opinion. :hmmm:
