not new to forums, def new to biking post age 12. ruh roh. now i'm 28.

so i dont live in jersey, i live on staten island, and recently started exploring the greenbelt trail which is right behind my house... so i borrowed a friends bike and went for a spin with my gf. loved it. but it's not really mtb friendly and my gf lives in jersey... so i'll be riding in jersey

so i bought my own bike. waiting for delivery now, purchased a trek 3500 from http://www.allwoodbicycle.com/ in clifton, based on an employees recommendation and my price range for what is a starter bike... pretty sure it's not the cats pajamas and is a low end bike, hopefully it'll take a few months of abuse to warrant keeping with the sport and investing in a new bike...

we all at some point bought a bike we weren't sure about to test the waters. nothing wrong with that at all.

you can come out from under your rock now..
 
Welcoem aboard....the thing that matters is not your first bike it's that you ride it as much as you can...
 
thanks for the warm welcome. i'm gonna try to check out this 6 mile run location after a few weeks of getting used to the bike and in a little better shape... seems like a lot of fun with at least a good bit of mtb people... been reading up on what to do and what not to do... see ya'll out there 🙂

When you get your bike let us know 6 mile is a lot of fun.
 
will do! the gf will be coming along we're total nubs, so i'm sure it'll be great entertainment to see us take a few lumps, all part of learning 🙂 i'll probably be more of a weekend sat or sun thing for me, work way too late during the week, i'll be keeping it local m-f
 
I'm still noobish myself. I wouldn't mind hitting up 6mi with you guys. I'm still a little intimidated to ride with the big boys. 😱

i wont be ready to attempt for a few weeks but i'll def post up about a nub run on a weekend

this weekend is super booked or we'd love to 🙁
 
went riding in manhattan, went to go on a sidewalk up a ramped curb, tight turn, low speed, wheel spun too far, went sideways... i fell over. broke two fingers and need a plate screwed into my finger 🙂

now to heal and get back out there
