USA made frames

I was in the market for a titanium hardtail and I looked to US or NA brands first. Then I got into a discussion forum and asked those who have had US made titanium frames and what their experiences were and unfortunately they were mostly negative. One guy had his frame crack at the BB 3 or 4 times after repeat repairs. I looked into several brands such as Moots, Lynskey, Sage, RSD, Why, and some foreign brands like Stanton, Ribble, Sonder, and Curve. Based on what I can gather the ones made in Taiwan and China seem to the best given their experience so I decided on the Sonder Signal Ti and I have to say the welds look pretty damn good. I was chatting with someone from Sonder and he told me they work with a small but very experienced titanium bike builder in China to build their bikes and they offer a 10-year warranty on their steel and titanium frames. For the price of my build (Full GX Eagle, Pike, Guide R) was the same price of just the frame alone of some North American brands. I'm not saying nobody in the US make great frames, just not in titanium.

I had this bike in the late 80s or early 90s... got stolen from my garage in Montclair... would still be cool to have... those tubes looked massive back then 🙂
