Have you tried it?
Besides... its not about NEED.... its about WANT
Max is blowing $$ just to go up from 27.5 to 29... I think he is also sizing up too but... do you NEED it? Not really.... you just WANT it.
From what I'm told modulation > stopping power. How often are you really slamming the brakes?

No one wants guides
Those are fighting words. Its all about preference. Some are Shimano guys.... some are sram guys. I happened to be a Shimano guy when it comes to brakes.

Guides have as just as much stoping power. Its about how much pull is required.... in other words... better modulation. I had no issues with the Guides at MCBP.

I ain't getting brake set till late spring after getting a group set for this bike.

I also took this opportunity to get a frame that fits me better the ragley is a bit cramp

All the time cuz I need to bleed them lol
Same boat, sorta. I'm also dealing with cheap tektro brakes. I get wanting the 4 pot, just saying it ain't necessary, unless you're really bombing down mountains. When I buy a bike, if it comes with guides, I'm keeping them. If it comes with MT200, I'm probably gonna grab a set of 2pot xt because they're cheap but good. And I'm pretty sure I go faster downhill at Hart's than you can at WC since I don't have the chunky rocks to deal with.

How do I know if I picked the right caliper mounts? fork and frame are 160 direct mount, for has a 203 max and the frame has a 185 max, just looking for more leverage to delay getting zees.
This confused me it just shows what's available but not when to use it
You’re right, that is just for the bolts. Let’s try this, what mounts do you have on the fork/ frame and what size disc are you going to use?

Frame and fork post are 160mm ? Some fork come with 180mm. Anyway, I found the correct charts at the link below (it has lots of usefull info, hoses compatibility, pads etc., just scroll down to the adapters and you'll see the two charts below.
