Very boring thread

I saw someone working on it last week and it looked like the section was actually raked in that day. It leads to a river crossing that doesn't connect the whole way?

Yeah, it's not quite done yet. Cogswell Mine Bypass and the Camp trail are also now blazed with shotgun shells.

Does that whole trail that is blazed with the shotgun shells have a name or just whatever names the various sections are called. BTW the work is great the more I learn about wildcat the better it is. Hoping to start volunteering TM time there this year.

We need a tour around split rock soon, that is one of the areas we haven't started exploring yet.

Each section has its own name. In some cases, each section has three names: what the trail builder calls it, what the Strava segment is called, and what it's listed on Trailforks as. Oreland and everything on the other side of Green Pond Rd was built by one guy, with help sometimes from others. It's sanctioned, but it's not being done by Jorba. The land on the other side of Green Pond Rd is not actually a part of Wildcat. We'll have some official TM's in Wildcat later this year though I'm sure.

There are endless woods roads and rail beds that you can take around, and there are a ton of gnar hiking/moto trails. The good stuff is significantly harder and more raw than anything in Wildcat. We're also not allowed to ride bikes on any of it for some reason. Let me know when you guys want a tour.

Thanks Jim very much appreciated!!!

Have had these logs on the side of my garage for 2+years

So I split one up

Cut a piece for a head

It has been in the dirt I hope to keep this spalting and doesn't weaken it too much.

And the straight grain from the other side was the perfect piece for the handle

Handle so far, got a little greedy in 2 spots with the axe while bringing it down to size. I'll stabilize those spots with some glue but IDGAF it's a hammer.

Planned the wood down so I could draw on it, I'm basing it off a a hatch handle I have and Luke the feel of...

Where I'm leaving for the night, I'll start off with a rasp when I get back to it

I hear that wooden chips marinated in mineral oil are the business for perfectly stopping shimano brakes...carry on, whatever it is that you’re doing.
