Don't piss off the red guy
Where? Not the 3 ADs I know.Nah, less than a month.

That's every watch. Only the watch people notice.A cool feature of that watch is it’s inconspicuous, the average observer won’t know it’s anything special, not even the loud-shirt with their Subs and blinged out Daytonas. Only watch geeks and others who appreciate taste and refinement will notice.
Did you check the AD at the most stereotypically obvious place in NJ, the Short Hills mall? You would be surprised.Where? Not the 3 ADs I know.
The two things that a lot of people use to judge the book by it’s cover; the car you drive and what watch you wear. That's every watch. Only the watch people notice.
Actually no. I've been going to Roman Jewelers in Bridgewater, Hamilton in Princeton, and Leonardo's in Metuchen which is local to me. Maybe one day I'll trek over to Short Hills mall. Last time I was there I bought a rug from Restoration Hardware and a pair of coffee tables from The Pottery Barn. I wonder if they're still there.Did you check the AD at the most stereotypically obvious place in NJ, the Short Hills mall? You would be surprised.
I'm a Black Bay guy but this is nice too.@Carson based on what you described, I'd have to steer you in the direction of what I use as my everyday watch, a Tudor Pelagos. I bought this as I wanted something with high legibility, a scratchproof bezel (ceramic) and crystal (sapphire, no AR treatment), in a metal that would be mostly bombproof (Ti, although not the lightest type), on the fly bracelet adjustments, and with a date feature. This is a very good option for a (cheaper) buy once, cry once mentality.

The Tudor’s are nice, no doubt, I dig the ceramic bezel. It all comes down to what you want, an emotional choice. The Tudors make a lot of sense, the perfect analogy is Corvette vs. Porsche. The Corvette makes way more sense, but only if that’s what you really want. Do you get a Vette because it’s rational when you really wanted a 911 or 718?@Carson based on what you described, I'd have to steer you in the direction of what I use as my everyday watch, a Tudor Pelagos. That's a great looking pieceSo I was talking with my Mom and BIL and they reminded me of my Dad's watch. He passed away in 2021 and my mom held on to it.
Hamilton Masterpiece 8480A. My dad got it as a gift for his 25th Anniversary at AT&T in 1993 and wore it daily. It has a nice company logo engraving on the back and the Spirit of Communication at the 6 o'clock. There was a Spirit of Communication statue in the lobby at headquarters in Bedminster where he worked for many years.
I cleaned it up and it looks great for 30 years old and reminds me of him!

Beautiful. The fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet is timeless. This is why that combination is most desired on Rolex's Datejust in my opinion. So I was talking with my Mom and BIL and they reminded me of my Dad's watch. He passed away in 2021 and my mom held on to it.

I like Hamilton Jewelers. They have a particular JLC I love but just can't justify ATM.Tropiano's installed a new battery and she's up and running. However, there is rust inside the case as the crown gasket is shot. I don't ever rememnber my dad getting it serviced so I guess I'm not surprised.
Looks like my choices are Hamilton Jewelers in Princeton or Swatch Group (who now owns Hamilton) repairs in Seacacus. SG is $160 plus parts. I am going to email Hamilton Jewelers.
@Carson I recommend this. Marathon runs sales every so often where they generally offer a 20% discount. Keeps great time and rugged as hell.

It has micro-adjust on the clasp and an extension if you want to wear it over a wetsuit. The bracelet is a pain in the ass to resize. It has threaded pins and the mfg must have used some industrial-strength loctite on them. Not crazy about the look on that. Does it have a quick adjust bracelet?
