Watches

I like the attention to detail on the dial and bezel where the number fonts all match - hour numerals, minute track and timing bezel.

Is the bezel lumed too?
The bezel is not lumed but I do like how balanced it is, example is it has "05" at the 5 minute mark instead of just a "5" so each numerical value has 2 characters. This is what Rolex did with the current Air King I have (126900). The previous version of the Air King (116900) only has the "5" instead of "05". Attached is my Air King for reference.

Gray market prices of the Pepsi has jumped up again due to rumors (again) of Rolex discontinuing it after this year. This phenomenon proves many so-called collectors are really flippers. Collectors buy what they like and keep them, not what the market commands and flip them.

Diver, too.

What's everyone's thoughts on Watches and Wonders? I like the updates to the Tudor Black Bays and two new divers caught my eye.

Black Bay 58 GMT is a stunner IMO

Omega doesn't participate, but this new release by them has my full attention. Absolutely adore black and orange

I'm a big fan of Longines and their HydroConquest punches way above its weight class. However, my favorite new release for this year is Grand Seiko's new UFA Divers in Blue and Green. Once they're in the boutiques I'm going to check them out. I've been wanting a UFA for a while. I went to a GS boutique when I was in Hawaii and they were all sold out. I went to the boutique at Watches Of Switzerland at the America Dream Mall and I got to see one but it was already sold. the SA was nice enough to show it to me before the buyer picked it up.

In! Went through Jomashop, have bought multiple times in the past from them with zero issues. If I don't love it in person, it goes back

Thoughts on the Monta? Case and bracelet are supposed to be top notch and I like the symmetry of the dial. But it's hard not to fall for the Longines brand history.

TBH I don't know much about Monta. I've never seen, touch, felt, or tried them on. Specs alone doesn't sell me on a watch. I love the Longines history but I think they're also very well made and they feel great. No sharp edges on my Masters Collection and it sits very nice on my wrist.

Enjoy. My Omega came with the black rubber deployment strap with orange stitching. I used to swap the bands all the time but got lazy. I've thought about swapping an orange bezel but the prices of the real Omega bands and bezels seems more outrageous than the watches themselves.

I've considered getting a watch from Jomashop but I haven't been able to pull the trigger on that yet.

How do you all feel about the count up bezel vs the count down?

I always favored the count-down (prior to having other things that now do it)

As a pilot there are things done with a watch that "time out" - counting down to zero means not having to remember what to count up to.
I'd think that diving is the same way? gotta start going up at 0, and then whatever the plan was.

trying to beat a time, you'd want count-up???? maybe?

did I post this already?

Wait, you're supposed to use the bezel? What is an iPhone for?

I'm used to using count down watches and 3 of my divers have them. I prefer to set the amount of time I'm limited to to the minute hand and let it count down to zero. This way I don't have to remember and calculate how much time is left. Once it reaches zero then time's up.

Already bought some aftermarket canvas and NATOs lol. I had the rubber this watch comes with on my old 300 Diver. I swap out straps on the Pelagos all the time during the summer.

Nice classic PO btw.

I think this is the third or fourth I've bought from them over the years.

This makes so much sense. I tried on a Longines GMT and a Spirit Zulu (while trying to find the new HC that is either sold out or haven't received yet) and both were really impressive. Monta and all microbrands are at a distinct disadvantage to brick and mortar. But the Monta reviews are all very positive.
