Well, that was fun.

It's been one hell of a journey to finally get a ride on my mountain bike.

Since I was 9, I spent 7 grueling years on a much too small for me Dyno BMX bike, hitting a wooden 1 foot ramp, right on a paved road.

16 years old, invest in my first (Wal-Mart) mountain bike. 4 months in it's rusted, nothing adjusts, it's a month past the return policy.

5 years later, (21 now) I decide I've worked hard enough in retail that I deserve an outlet for my energy. Took my Dyno BMX bike (this bike was ALWAYS good, never rusted, changed the chain ONCE, and replaced it's 3-spoke rims) and gave it to my fathers bosses kid.

Sadly the unnamed mountain bike was beyond repair. It was scrapped.

3 months ago, I dug into my funds, bought my Kona one20, and then found a full time job, working 1PM-10PM 5 days a week.

Well, I finally got a free weekend, went to Town Cycle with my pal, got a nice little map of Jungle Habitat and went on an adventure.

First time riding in years, went through the Warthog like I was never off my bike. (Granted, I still work retail and my diet is hellish, had to stop a few times to catch my breath.)

But I'll be damned, I MADE IT! Me, with the stamina and muscle of a gummi worm.

Definitely hope to ride more and acquire more friendships (slowly trying to convert my pal who does road bike marathons to a mountain biker.)

There's my introduction of trial and error, and how I finally got my one real ride up at Jungle.

Pic. Related, it's my baby.

Welcome aboard,
this is a sickness that creeps up on you... you seem to have been bit long ago.

Yeah I was, but as time went on I got stuck in the virtual world, spending hours and hours on my computers.

I've ridden a few times, but ever since I got my kona, all I do is day dream about going out and seeing how much I can push myself.
