Wells Mills Conditions

A tornado struck Wells Mills during last week's storm. The park has reopened, though some trails and trail sections remain closed.

Since last trail conditions are from “21” I’ll do one from Wednesday ride!
1st time here and rode mostly white trail clockwise about 11miles in all, pretty damp from Monday’s rain on low spots and boardwalks and bridges were treacherous at times with the green slime that forms on pressure treated after about 6 miles in, Overall very impressed with terrain and I’ll be exploring more, hopefully in dryer conditions.

I rode there once. Yellow trail, as per MTB project. Came up on a jogger, wished him a good morning. Instead of a similar greeting, this chap told me that bike riding was not permitted. I assured him that according to my research, and pictures showing the multi use signs (which I offered to show him), that I was indeed “allowed”. Finished the ride and have not been back since.

I think I will give it another go. I will also explore across the street when no hunting is allowed.

Highly recommend going to Forked River. Lot of roads, but if you get to the mountain, there’s a branch trail that can’t be beat. Hunting usually ends around March 15. It dose get sandy.

I think I did that branch trail with you, the climb and then the downhill?? Just three of us that started at bullock? Maybe in march or April of this year?

Been eyeing Forked River Mtn. for a while, where is best place to park Lacey Rd.? It looks like that might be closest/best route?

Never parked on Lacey Rd. Since this is a Wells Mill site I would park at Wells Mill. I park at the big lot at Greenwood on 539. As far as I know, there are no marked trails.
