Trees that need cutting are too big for my silky 650. Trees are laying on the ground so with the silky, youre laying on the ground too. Cant move the trees at all so ill be taking the axe. Gonna take more than 1 day to get em all...
A big thank you to the 12/7/25 volunteers! Bill spent most of the day on the PBT. Removing nine blowdowns and brushing back a lot of the trail. The rest of us spent time on the Huckleberry and northern Oak Hill Trail. Removing nine more blowdowns and brushing back a lot of those car wash sections Good times! Please join us on future maintenance days. Everyone is invited!
If anyone is asking. Maps show that the PBT received two to three inches of snow.
The snow is heavy, leaving many pines bent. You’ll likely be better off riding the sand roads.

The snow is gone. But you'll likely find more than a few pines bent over from the snow.
Next scheduled WSF MTB trail maintenance is Sunday morning 1/4/26. Meet in the lot at 9:00. Back around noon. Current plan is to mount up and ride. Brushing back the trail and eliminating blowdowns as we roll north up the Oak Hill Trail. Bring; mountain bike, helmet, bug spray (?), water, snacks, and a sense of humor. If you're not bringing your own trail maintenance kit, JORBA trail maintenance tools will be available (and maybe a pack or two to carry the tool will be available too). Everyone is invited. You will be asked to sign a waiver. Must be over 18 years old to attend. Thanks!

Today started out cold but warmed up nice. Mike and me cleared and brushed back the southern half of the Oak Hill Trail. Thanks Mike! No more putting your chin on the bars to get thru w/o a dozen or so slaps. The next scheduled maintenance day is Sunday 2/1/26. Thanks!
