It probably isn’t though
Maybe, but if it were a SS.... now we’re talking

I showed you my argument and you admitted you were trolling meBecause #pearlfactsbackedbyscientificstudy
I did? Thought I just stated no one provided factual information.I showed you my argument and you admitted you were trolling me
No, I never got more than an opion of a response so I stopped.you never had a reply that made any sense so I figured you just gave up the discussion

I posted articles about optimal cadence, and that everyone has an optimal cadence, and science shows that it? So in theory, having the ability to change gears and stay in your optimal cadence for longer periods of time than staying in one gear is more beneficial....No, I never got more than an opion of a response so I stopped.
Don't make me ask Dylan to squash this arguement

So what your saying is that despite @Pearl ’s not really scientifically supported scientific articles may be worthless and SS may be faster as scientific studies on gears vs ss may be null and void? I knew it ! ?Food for thought Dave. There have been cases where what we assumed to be facts in science have since been proven otherwise.
Just hold everything with a lite grip and freedom is yours.
What is SS is my optimal cadence?
DT Would not like thatWhat if I just chose to not believe this Dylan guy even if he’s a pro??
Well since you cant change gears, you cant optimally be in the right gear to maintain that cadence. What is SS is my optimal cadence?

true story alert
back in my crotch rocket, knee dragger days, a handful of us use to head out on Saturday mornings for the back twisty roads to see who had bigger balls.
after a rip, we were at the local eatery talking shit and gearing became a debate... we had one friend that insisted by putting a larger sprocket his bike would be faster. We tried to explain how it would feel much faster accelerating but he would top out at a slower top speed when he hit the rev limiter in too gear. No matter how many different ways we explained it, he just wasn’t hearing it.
That said, he would keep up really well accelerating out of corners but when the road opened up and straightened out and his bike topped out at 155mph, the rest of us watched his dot get smaller and smaller in our mirrors as we pulled top speed in the 170s / 180s...
Then he would make up all kinds of excuses...
Bottom line - no matter how much logic and science you throw at it, some people refuse to accept it.
Mt Taylor - you sir are that guy here.
Where with twisty roads were you hitting 180? The flats of NJ 29?That said, he would keep up really well accelerating out of corners but when the road opened up and straightened out and his bike topped out at 155mph, the rest of us watched his dot get smaller and smaller in our mirrors as we pulled top speed in the 170s / 180s...
