What 29er are you riding?

Just wanted to know what 29ers the ladies of MTBNJ are riding?

Im thinking of either a Titus RX frame leftover that Campmor has hanging around or a 29 for a next bike for my GF. Right now shes rocking a 16" Kona Blast with some upgraded parts. If i go the Titus route i could use the wheels for now and we be that couple that matches. If i go 29 frame I'd have Geoff build me a wheel set. This idea is still in its infant stage mind you.

I have a 26" Titus Racer X that was the love of my stable, my pride and joy until I got a Salsa Mamacita. Now the small wheeler has not left the garage since Big Red moved in.......

Poor small wheeler.....

this is what Im wondering about. It really be up to her since she's going to ride it. I'm thinkin the 29 will let her plow though the roots n rocks. Ill try and get her on a 29. What size are your RacerX and Mamacita?

I can answer that since I'm her personal mechanic 😀 355's mounted to xt hubs with DT competion spokes at 6 grams under 1800 total so I was told by Chad at Red Barn Cycles...
 
cool...the 355s would be the rims i'd get built up for her next wheelset whether it be a 26 or a 29 if she likes the 29 thang.
 
My Girlfriend's been riding/racing a SIR this year and absolutely loving it. She's clearing techy rock gardens that she never used to be able to clean with her FS Jamis Dakar and carrying a lot more speed on the flowy stuff to boot....

Titus is xs, the mamcita is the smallest they make...maybe a 15"?????

I am 5'3" tall.
 
I ride the same small Salsa Mamasita as RocknRollGirl and I'm almost 5'5". Going up to the big wheels has completely changed my riding! My 26" GF is set up on the trainer and will never see the dirt of trails again.
 
hey lawnart, you probably already know this, but I just wanted to mention that Titus 29 sizing is different than Titus 26. Their 29er's are geared for real tall people. May not be be as women friendly.

Titus 29 small is like a medium Titus 26. 23.25 TT and 29.69 SO.

Salsa 29 small 22.8 TT and 28.4 SO.

hey ellen, thanks for lookin out. I was looking at the Titus 26s they've got left over. That RacerX 29er frame they've got I think is my size and its a Medium i think? Thing is huge!
