





Stopped at our favorite local last night for an Irish duo.

Lady at the end of the bar eyed the short glass being poured by the bartender and commented that she really likes JAY-MER-SEN. I looked at my wife and asked, "Did she just say what I think she said?" She continued to mention her friend named their Irish Setter JAY-MER-SEN. People from Gloucester City, like those from Philly, have the awesome ability to come up with new ways to pronounce easy words. AC-A-ME and AS-PRARA-GRASS are a few that quickly come to mind.

After hearing the mayor of Philly completely butcher it as E-L-G-S-E-S, anything is possible. It's not Lan-kiss-ter? What about the other name for a stream? It's a crick, right?Yes, but could she spell E-A-G-L-E-S, or say Lancaster?
