The yards website says hops weren't readily available at the time so he used Spruce tips and Sprigs. A buddy of mine claims to have read the English Lords had a strong hold on the hop market at the time and with the revolution and all Franklin refused to pay the lords for hops. Sounds legit enough... Hopefully it doesn't taste like someones old christmas tree!

Had this last night:
Rock Art Brewery Stump Jumper Gnarly Stout
seemed appropriate after mountain biking

Saranac Lake Black Forest....yum one of my faves.

then sampled Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate stout...didnt like it very much.

bud lights, texting with Jake about how awesome Patagonia is.

Patagonia is beyond awesome... My wife and I got my brother in-law their wool lined wet suit... He is a pretty unaffected kinda gent but when he got this it brought out his inner self...

I hooked up on some of their base layers which are as solid as anything I have used in the past...

DFH chicory stout. Very tasty coffee stout. But the more coffee stouts I try the more I long for more founders breakfast stout.

I broke out the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, in honor of Jmanic. Really am enjoying this beer. Think of a real good porter, low bitterness with a subtle cream soda flavor, without the sweetness.

Nice- tried to pick that up tonight, but my place was out of it.
Had to settle for Anderson Valley Oat Stout.
