what do you read?

Currently finishing up this one.

I'm behind on my "one book per month" goal for 2026, but considering I mainly read at night before bed, I'm not doing too bad. I have a literal wall of unread books behind me as I type this.

I already have book 3 waiting for me at the library. Though I may need something lighter (in the literary and physical sense) since we travel in a few weeks and I don't want a 5lb book tagging along.
I finished the 3rd book today. It was my least favorite of the Kingsbridge series so far. Overall it was a good story and the same caliber of writing, however the plot was drawn out very slowly, it was way more complicated, and it just was not as interesting to me as the first two. My wife grabbed the next one from the library book sale, but I need to change gears for a bit before I pick up another 1000 page English historical fiction.

I’m on book 2 of the Mistborn series. Brandon Sanderson is a pretty renowned epic author. I listened to the second part of this series years ago and loved it.

So far (halfway through the second of three) it’s not as good as I remember the next series being but still great and I’ll finish.

The last books i read:
Stranger Diaries
Seven Dials Mystery

Almost finished with:
The Women (only like 50 pages left... REALLY good)

Up next:
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle (some of the reviews said this was a little harder to get thru since there are so many characters so i guess we'll see how this goes)

Pre-ordered:
How to Survive camping # 2 I liked the first book so much that I went and preordered this which is coming out in April and the third book which is coming out in September.

I finished Evelyn Hardcastle faster than I thought.

The review I gave it: 4 stars on concept and like 80% of the book. 3 stars towards the end where I think things get a little cheesy.... Veering into slightly sappy

Norm recommended Wild Dark Shore while I waited for my pre-ordered book to come in. Liked it a lot and zipped thru it pretty fast. Would pass along the recommendation to anyone else looking for a book to read.

I have the second book in the How to Survive Camping series waiting for me at home. Arrived just before we left for the trip and I didn't want to bring it with me. After that, I'll be looking for some more recommendations.

Listened to these so far this year. Nothing great, but something to pass the time in the car and mowing the grass etc ...
