I finished the 3rd book today. It was my least favorite of the Kingsbridge series so far. Overall it was a good story and the same caliber of writing, however the plot was drawn out very slowly, it was way more complicated, and it just was not as interesting to me as the first two. My wife grabbed the next one from the library book sale, but I need to change gears for a bit before I pick up another 1000 page English historical fiction.
I’m on book 2 of the Mistborn series. Brandon Sanderson is a pretty renowned epic author. I listened to the second part of this series years ago and loved it.
So far (halfway through the second of three) it’s not as good as I remember the next series being but still great and I’ll finish.

I finished Evelyn Hardcastle faster than I thought.
The review I gave it: 4 stars on concept and like 80% of the book. 3 stars towards the end where I think things get a little cheesy.... Veering into slightly sappy
Norm recommended Wild Dark Shore while I waited for my pre-ordered book to come in. Liked it a lot and zipped thru it pretty fast. Would pass along the recommendation to anyone else looking for a book to read.
I have the second book in the How to Survive Camping series waiting for me at home. Arrived just before we left for the trip and I didn't want to bring it with me. After that, I'll be looking for some more recommendations.

Came up in another thread, so I decided to give this ago in between my The Expanse binge. Overly wordy, with a lot of literary references I'm not familiar with (apparently I'm a heathen). I recognize the author is trying to set the tone for the mentality of the witness accounts, so I'm letting it slide for now.
I think this is the same guy who did Chernobyl?
Seems like the forum swallowed my post 2x about this book for some strange reason. Just finished this one, thought it was a great read. It's about some kids who grow up as step siblings and how their lives unfold. Nothing profound, just great storytelling.
The silent patient was pretty good.
Freida McFadden better write a few more books to keep you happy.
A friend recommended this to me and I am on the wait list for it at the library so I'll let you know once I get it.

She’s a great author. Everything she writes is excellent.
I was surprised that this was her 5th best book, I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of her.
I think Bel Canto was the first of hers I read. Long time ago but I remember liking it a lot.
I just started re-reading Vonnegut. Picked up Breakfast of Champions. Still as good as it was the first time I read it.
Just downloaded Commonwealth for the trip to VT. Not something i usually listen to, and all descriptions sound boring so we shall see. 🙂

Never read any Vonnegut, I'll get that on the horizon.
Just started the Flight Attendant, then I want to finish off the Kingsbridge books (think I have 2 left). Follett has a ton of other stuff out there too, I'm interested to see how his style translates to other genres.
