What have you done to your bike today?

Couldn’t stand the round chainring and inopportune pedal strikes of the stock 170mm GX cranks anymore so I swapped them out for the165mm 5DEV’s off of my play bike (a 5010) and added a new 5Dev T-Type oval 32t. I’ve been on oval rings on MTB’s for so long that round rings feel goofy. 🤷‍♂️.

The 5010? That got an old new stock GX 165mm crankset and the Absolute Black oval ring originally on the 5Dev’s.

I know you are a bike mechanic. I also have a Ti MTB with a pressfit bottom bracket which I built 4 years ago with a praxis BB used never seize and torque it to the proper NM and never had a creak in the BB. I also use the praxis om my pressfit BB on the road bike never had a creak. Do you like praxis BB?

I like Wheels over Praxis but they’re basically the same idea. Creaking doesn’t have anything to with what BB or Standard it is, some frames just creak no matter what, like my Timberjack. It’ll stay quiet for 2 or 3 rides and then creak creak creak. My Scalpel is quiet, that’s really weird.
