What wine are you drinking now?

Checking out the neighborhood.

Literally, right next door to each other. Or is that figuratively? or both!
The Austin Hope won this one by far.

My wine tastes are pretty varied. I'm definitely a sucker for a cool label. After work I often go for something fairly low brow. Like an inexpensive Niagara white.

The last time I visited Watkins Glen I came home with a case of meades from Earle Estates, but that is long gone. Saw this in the store recently:

Definitely not as sweet as other meades I've had, but on the sweeter side as wines go.

I drink "grown up" wines too... but I don't get why what we liked as kids we can't like as adults?

I can honestly say I have never had that. I never went through a "get blitzed for the sake of getting blitzed" phase when I was younger. An odd side-effect of being in a pseudo straight-edge band during my early 20s. And growing up the son of an alcoholic father.

I enjoy the sweeter late harvest Reisling Spatlese and even sweeter Auslese/BA. They are intentionally made with more reidsual sweetness and supsequently less ABV. Either are my fav sushi pairing wine. Then there is the old snobby wine mantra, "talk dry, drink sweet" which is just to shit on supermarket wines while everyone drinks first growth and premiere cru with thier happy meals. Right? 🤣

I enjoy various Reisling styles, thanks to some car club friends who often get the semi-dry styles. While dry reds I generally like, I haven't really found a dry white I like.

Speaking of whites... the other half of the case I bought last weekend:

If there's one big downside to these wines is they are a bit like the wine coolers from the early 90s (or Mike's Hard Lemonade). It goes down really easy and rather quickly. I can easily kill a bottle in in an evening.
