How much of those 5 hours were spent grinding the letters VW off the oil pump? Or was that included in the 5k?

It was definitely an Audi part already. It a Audi V10 in a Lamborghini.

Retapping or sleeving it wasn't an option? Just curious. Props to the guy for actually driving it. Any other issues in 42k miles besides the drain plug? Just curious if supercars are as fragile and maintenance nightmares like they're made out to be.

Whomever did it shoved a 1/4 pipe thread plug in it. 
Most of the cars that come through this shop are in really good condition.
This was purchased from a used car lot. Radiators are sand and rock blasted. It's been driven hard.
Only as good as the person maintaining them .

Dropped part of a motorcycle frame off at the welder today (@Dave Taylor , not sure if you do aluminum but it would have been a b*tch to ship) and this was in the back. It drives (slowly, I'm sure)! It was parked in front of a billboard in Brooklyn as part of an advertising campaign.

So the sump and pump are a single part number? That's crazy.
It's a dry sump system.
Water pump, oil pumps and scavenge pipes all one

Water pump too? Wow. My 360 is dry sump too but the pump and pan are separate. Amazingly, you can get each individual part of the pump separately. If you strip the plug, the threaded insert is a $5 part.

Caught this at the last second on the dog walk this morning. Heard it coming before I saw it. Manual trans. Looks like an earlier one maybe 65-67 ish.
Thats one of my fav colors besides blue. Looked real clean from 200 feet away 😁 and sounded real nice as it went thru the gears in the distance.
