This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

Will be interesting to see how far the State lags behind the Private Sector. I'm also in Summit so my baseline for anything is probably way off. These people own the hospitals and pharma labs.

You mean state/county vaccination sites vs pharmacies? FL has all Publix plus Walmart, Winn Dixie and CVS pharmacies offering it now. Looks like 60+ will open up in a week or two - that's us.

I meant the scheduling. I haven't heard anything about open appointments from the State at all.

I am on the other side (ie i work for IT in a healthcare system) and yes it is a shit show. My current project is helping with the design of a sign up website.
I love the logic. The people that are the greatest at risk either don't have access to email, don't know how to use email, or cannot figure out how to create a login to a website. OK... let's build a website.

Kid in our town built a twitter bot to send out vaccine information. Okay that's truly amazing, but the greatest risk group doesn't use twitter.

What we needed initially was our local town governments to go door to door for this older population and get them signed up. One person in our town took the initiative and did this exact thing and everyone that wanted the vaccine in that group is now vaccinated.

My own mother in law just kept plugging her email address into the login and was hysterically crying that she hasn't gotten a response. I asked her, "did you create an account so that you could login?" Crickets.... "Okay, I'll handle everything from here" Got her scheduled the next week.

I agree it has been a complete disaster, but it's better than in a lot of countries, which is mind blowing. I'm hopeful though that things will pick up on the distribution end.

Vaccine #3 will be approved tomorrow. People will be getting the one shot J&J vaccine by next week

This one is a big deal given that regardless of availability, in parts of this country and in many other countries trying to get folks to show up for a second appointment (especially one with a timeline on when) would be an almost impossible task. This will be particularly useful globally in smaller / less developed countries i would think.

Brief summary, car is worth like a million dollars. I keep my eyes open for a good driver but they're seriously coming up in price fast. I blame all of the 80's themed Netflix shows that make it look so much cooler than the actual POS it was.
I had an 85 Z28 which was my favorite youth car so I randomly check on them, you're not kidding. Would love to do an LS conversion on one.

Plus it doesn't need to be frozen
