This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

I know someone who got both shots there. 1st was early in the day and it was 45 minutes and done. 2nd shot was in the afternoon and it took over 3 1/2 hours.

My 1st appt is early AM and MetLife is right down the street from my job. Now I'm trying to opt out of RWJ and the state registration now.... I don't think its possible. When they reach out i'll just have to let them know I'm good i guess.

After yesterday's misstep with the spam risk and being at the loud ass shop I decided to try for myself last night. My wife was surprised I wasn't picked early because of my chronic illness and immunosuppressive meds I've been on for a few years.

My wife got her 2nd Pfizer this morning at the Edison mega site. The lot was like Allaire except no grass to park on but the process inside went even more smoothly than 3 weeks ago. I wasn't allowed in this time (it came as a surprise that I was last time). She got her shot 30min from walking in the door. Back to the car in 45. 5 hours later, no symptoms yet beyond a sore arm.

24.3% of NJ residents have at least one dose as of yesterday. 11th on the leaderboard. 🙂. It looks like we're up pas 50k doses/day. Using hand-wavy, fuzzy math, I'm hoping to have a chance by the end of April.

Had first dose of moderna on 3/7. Today- 3/17 I tested positive- started with chills on Monday then a fever at night to 99( typically I run high 96 low 97). Woke up with lump in throat and no fever- went to work. Got home, passed out, woke up at 12am- up till 4am. Passed out again, woke up at 6- called out of work. Being on day 3 going into 4, I feel awful-

Why are people still going to work with any symptom right now? If I have itchy balls, I’m not going into work. You are at 85% after 3 wks on moderna. Things take time.

Good chance I had allergies since I’m frequent to sinus infections/scratchy throat.

Wife tested negative- kids go today- so far fever has subsided but hard to swallow ( from what I read , that’s not a Covid symptom) my uvula is scorching, with a constant feeling of having to swallow. Feels like strep but unsure since they won’t test me for anything bc I have a positive test result.

I went to work for 4 days in Dec. before I got tested, which ended up being positive. Just felt like allergies. No fever, fatigue, cough. Just runny nose, sneezing, and head pressure. Then, no smell/taste was the symptom that made me get tested. The crazy mind thoughts were the tough part. "Where did I get it?" "Did I give it to anyone?" "What if....?" Overall it was a mild case. However, I definitely had feelings of different things late Jan/early Feb, that I've read could be post covid. Brain fog occasionally, heart flutters and palpitations, and feeling like crap sometimes. Went to the doctor and all good, no explanations why. And have not been vaccinated yet.

I wish you the best of luck in your recovery. I was a bit insensitive in my comment, but I'm just mind-blown how many NEED to get to work despite the whole pandemic thing going on and putting others at risk. I am assuming the whole family is now quarantining? Negative test for your wife at this point, doesn't mean that she doesn't have it based on the incubation period. Best strategy is for everyone to stay home, assume they have it, and quarantine for the 10 days. If without symptoms, good to go. If they do test positive, the provider will give them the same advice anyway. They should not go and get a test until day 5. At that point, if negative and they are symptom free for 7 days, then it is assumed that they are not a risk to the general public.

So here's a scenario now that folks are getting vaccinated.

Group is traveling for an event. One member who is fully vaccinated informs the group that his son has tested positive but since he is fully vaccinated its no issue because CDC say no need to quarantine.

Rest of group is sceptical and he's voted off the island.

Thoughts?
